Hours, closed days and prices come from the official Nijo-jo Castle website and its English leaflets, and each page shows the date we last checked them. Travel times on the getting there page were timed ourselves, and the page says when and how. Place names on the map follow the official English guide map and leaflets.

The crowd level on the home page is an estimate worked out from Google Maps' typical busyness for each day and hour at Nijo Castle, the season and the weather. It is not a live count.
